{"id":1279,"date":"2023-08-04T13:06:46","date_gmt":"2023-08-04T01:06:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atrad-audio.co.nz\/?p=1279"},"modified":"2023-08-04T13:07:17","modified_gmt":"2023-08-04T01:07:17","slug":"new-standalone-tone-control-coming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atrad-audio.co.nz\/index.php\/2023\/08\/04\/new-standalone-tone-control-coming\/","title":{"rendered":"New Standalone Tone Control coming"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1066\" src=\"https:\/\/atrad-audio.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_3506.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-703\"\/><figcaption>The old Standalone Tone Control<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A long time ago we did a scrapyard project with leftover and foraged parts, it was an active Tone Control (you can read about it <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/atrad-audio.co.nz\/index.php\/standalone-tone-control\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>) that was just intended as a working proof-of-concept for the tone control that we use in our <a href=\"https:\/\/atrad-audio.co.nz\/index.php\/matariki-amplifier\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Octantis<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/atrad-audio.co.nz\/index.php\/kingsway-preamplifier\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kingsway<\/a> models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This unit was never in production; it was just a rough working test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And yet&#8230; it has been the page that constantly gets the most hits on this site, and the most requests by email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, in this post we are announcing our intent to design a new version of the standalone tone control, functionally similar to the prototype but in a more cosmetic package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Features list:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bass and treble controls offering \u00b112dB of adjustment at 100Hz and 10KHz (non-parametric)<\/li><li>Switchable ON or BYPASS <\/li><li>Powered by 12volt external power supply<\/li><li>2-tube design<\/li><li>Stereo RCA input and output sockets<\/li><li>Mode indicator LEDs<\/li><li>Can be left in circuit continuously; if powered off will automatically enter BYPASS mode<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our schedule is to have it available by Christmas 2023; pricing yet to be finalised, we&#8217;re aiming for a price point at or under $400 if possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Watch this space!<\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A long time ago we did a scrapyard project with leftover and foraged parts, it was an active Tone Control (you can read about it here) that was just intended as a working proof-of-concept for the tone control that we use in our Octantis and Kingsway models.
